My, my, how time flies!  We have uncovered Lil Loafer, (she doesn't have a name yet), and no one was living inside over the winter.  Thank goodness.  Lucky for me, a friend called and wanted to trade his time working on the trailers for some quality time with a trailer....about 2 weeks over the summer. Sounded like a great trade off to me!  So he did some welding on the frame on the floor,

to strengthen the corner of the door.  It would give a little with my hubby stepping in and we thought that might have been why it also had a tear in the skin.  He also replaced some of the bolts in the floor and they tested the propane. I glued on the Formica and hubby put the tables back on the walls.  Next is plumbing and cut the hole for the sink, which is kind of scary because that's all the Formica I have. No room for mistakes.  The picture looks messy, but compared to what it was, we are making improvements bit by bit.  I'm happy with her, and that's what counts I guess. Can't wait to finish her up and take her out, just Lil Loafer and me.....and maybe Hubby and a tent.

I was working on polishing the Lil Loafer when winter came upon us. And since the front window was still out, the door out, and the skin was off the front and side, we covered her up and finished for the year. Good thing she is small, as the tarp wrapped around her from top to bottom. So I am hoping to start again as the weather warms in the next few months. Hope no critters have moved in over the winter!

Well.  It always starts with a "Well" doesn't it? Deep subject, easy to fall into. Anyway....the trailer is done inside but hasn't gone out on a trip yet. The Suburban shorted out and all lights went out when the brakes were put on, so we had to leave Sparky behind and go to Calif without her. It was so sad cuz we worked so hard to get her done. But I have slept in her twice to see how comfy she is. Problem now is that I don't think James will be able to sleep in her since the bed is normal size and no overhang for feet. So we don't know what to do now. I am guessing a gutted trailer, custom made for James might be the way to go. Here are some pictures are Sparky in her glory for now.

The weather here has been great so far, such a mild winter. So we have been working a bit on the Fireball. Hubby wanted me to post the picture of his handy work... We are blessed it didn't burn down. Seems the big plug it came with was wired backwards and so when he tried to put the light back up, which was taken down and in the cabinet (now we know why) he had sparks and buzzing noises from outside in the storage compartment where there is...oops...WAS a plug. But not anymore. Wow, trailers can be tricky, especially those that need a little TLC  (tires, lights and ceiling)  We are learning that maybe the electrical should be left to those with experience. But I am proud of Hubby, that he figured it all out....without the fire department showing up.

Indoor projects

We had our first real snowfall yesterday. Didn't stay long since it is raining now. But it is prefect weather for sewing. I am trying to finish the cushions in the Fireball. I decided to try something new, gathers on the boxing, around the edges.  It is taking a lot of time, but I am liking it and it's a great improvement to what was there. So on to finish the rest, then painting the inside before curtains. I am putting up new rods, so I will patch holes before painting. They put up ugly black rod iron rods with pointy tips on the ends. Hmmm.... not for me.

Hubby was off for a few days and with the lack of snow here, we got a few things done on the Fireball, still yet named.  Oh, and it doubled in price too. Now that Christmas is over, I am headed for the sewing room to cover the original '68 cushions. I mean, I love vintage, but yuck on these. So all the fabric has been washed and dried and I need to pick up a few things tomorrow and then it's off to work I go. I forgot to go back and pick up the red floral fabric for the curtains. When I went to get it, they only had a yard plus,  but I will mix and match with what I could find. Hubby is working on the water system, which had 2 splits from frozen pipes we are guessing. Hoping there aren't any more we can't see. Nothing like water spilling out from under cabinets or floors. Hmmm...wonder how we know what that's like? So, maybe soon we will have some after pictures. I love those kind!
