New trailer! It's a girl.

Yes, I just bought another trailer. It's a 1968 Fireball, 19'. This one was meant to be mine. The girl we bought it from even said that after she posted it, that she didn't return calls. I kept thinking about it after I saw it at the first part of Aug. So I did a Craig's List search and it was still listed. I paid less than 1/2 of the original asking price after it's been listed 3 weeks. And so far, it's been the cleanest one I've looked at. It didn't sell cause it was mine. So..bittersweet, cuz I will be selling Hop-a-long. But I did fix him up to sell, so after a camping trip in 2 weeks, he goes up for adoption. So I need to get busy and finish a trailer to make room here for the Fireball. Oh, Maybe I had a soft spot for it because when we move up here, we lived in a Fireball 5th wheel. Now to choose a name for her.

My partner in crime.

Well, it was suppose to be my project, but this Shasta was in bad shape and James had to step in. Out went the benches which exposed all the damage. Then off went the walls, which exposed even MORE damage! Now I know where the phrase "Ignorance is bliss" came from, someone repairing trailers. So, like my hero, he stepped in and repaired the side walls. Next is the front wall, then we move to the back wall. James, you're the best! Will we ever get our money back on this one? I just don't know.

1960 Lil Loafer

Funny story.  We heard about this trailer salvage yard in Marsing, so we headed out to look for parts, and there in the back corner was this sweet tiny aluminum 9' trailer..full of wasps I might add. Anyway, to make a long story short, I bought 2 small windows, 3 window cranks and a 1960 Lil Loafer trailer that day.  It was pretty bad inside, but I am working on it while James works on the Shasta.  There is lots of work to do, but this kind I can handle on my own. Here are the before pictures. I hear it's called a Zombie trailer cuz we have to bring it back from the dead. Trailer humor I guess. But what a cute trailer this will be.

1964 Shasta

I know, I'm not keeping up with this, cuz I'm busy working on trailers and it's summer, so others things like yard work are on the list of "to do" projects. Plus our grand daughters 2nd birthday, couldn't miss that.  But, back to work. We are tearing into the Shasta big time. There was dry rot inside the wall, so James is fixing it. We ordered the birch paneling from a cabinet maker, so he can replace it and it should look nice. Trying to find supplies is sometimes hard, like the door handle for it. I don't think we are going to get one, so we need something else that will work. James has a lot to do before I can do my fun part.
